We're here!

Buenos Dias! We're excited to be coming to you from San Jaoquin de Nicoya, in Costa Rica! We arrived safely last night, and went to dinner at a small, traditional restaurant outside of town. While we were all a little apprehensive at first, we were amazed at how delicious everything was! But, nobody tried the cow tongue...

After dinner, the group had a memorable three hour drive to the small town that we're calling home for the next 7 days. When pulling into the town, a group of local children were excitedly waiting for us at the main gate. A huge party was also taking place in the town square, in celebration of today's holiday, the annexation of Nicoya. From what we've heard, the entire region shuts down to celebrate this day, and we couldn't be happier to be here to celebrate with the town!

After arriving in town, we checked in at our "hotel", and started settling in. Not long after each group went to their respective rooms, we began to hear screaming and laughing from each room. We soon found out that one room found a huge lizard, one a huge wasp, and one found a little scorpion in bed! (Hint: the scorpion was in the girl's room, and Amber, Sara and Adrian quickly called in Brian, Mark and Mitch for reinforcement.)

We're having a wonderful time so far, and excited to settle in and begin working on the court, and getting to know the community (which is so excited to have us here!)
